Italian watchmaker Meccaniche Veloci, which literally means “mechanical speed,” has quickly gained a reputation for creating a line of luxury watches that are pure adrenaline in the eyes of enthusiasts. The company, which was founded in 2006 in Vicenza, Italy as a creative time lab committed to bringing the passion and excitement of motor racing to your wrist, has been extraordinarily successful with their debut Quattro Valvole collection.
This iconic watch line, inspired by the four valve racing engines that powered the classic 1984 Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS Quattrovalvole, is a masterpiece of industrial design and watchmaking innovation.
Like any true competitor, Meccaniche Veloci has never been one to rest on their laurels. After the initial success of the first Quattro Valvole watches, which featured a massive 48mm lathe turned aircraft grade 7075 aluminum alloy case, the company looked for new materials that embodied the spirit of motor racing.
In 2009, they found their answer in the advanced carbon ceramic technology pioneered by Brembo, a world leader in the production of racing braking systems. In partnership with Brembo, Meccaniche Veloci introduced the Quattro Valvole CCM, which is now the flagship model in the Quattro Valvole collection.
This revolutionary watch is fabricated out of the same high performance carbon ceramic material Brembo uses to manufacture its high-tech competition brakes. Due to the structure of this carbon fiber, phenolic resin and silicon material, only a limited number of these exotic watches can be produced each month. A genuine Brembo brake disc provides the case for just seven hand fabricated watches, and each finished watch is available in a choice of Brembo’s famous red, black, yellow and silver colors.
Although Meccaniche Veloci is still a young upstart in the tradition bound world of watchmaking, it has already established itself as a serious contender. The success of the Quattro Valvole has already inspired a complete line of Meccaniche Veloci watches, each focusing on a different aspect of the world of speed. The company now features four new Quattro Valvole models:
- Quattro Valvole 48 Classic
- Quattro Valvole 44 Chronograph
- Quattro Valvole 42 Solo Tempo
- Quattro Valvole 42 Riserva di Carica
In addition, Meccaniche Veloci now offers a special Unique Collection of Quattro Valvole single piece watches, each created for one special person, using materials taken directly from prestigious objects from the world of speed.
To complement the Quattro Valvole line, Meccaniche Veloci also offers the Superquadro, with its unique gritty style and completely restyled Meccaniche Veloci chronograph, the Ace Café, and the Corsacorta.
All these exceptional watches represent Italian design and craftsmanship at its best. To reinforce the company’s strong ties to Italian motorsports, Meccaniche Veloci now is the proud sponsor of several important European motoring events, such as the SuperBike Rally and the Rally of the Pharaohs.
Meccaniche Veloci is a company that understands that its most exciting days are still ahead and continues its unique philosophy of translating a passion for motor racing into a uniquely personal statement you can wear on your wrist.
