One of the Oldest Cities in Denmark Provides
the Inspiration for This New Johan Eric Design
The city of Viborg, located in the center of Denmark, is one of the oldest municipalities in the country, tracing its roots all the way back to 8th Century Viking settlements. The city’s central location gave it great strategic importance during the Middle Ages, and it subsequently became home to the famous Viborg Cathedral, which has been a familiar site in the city since construction commenced in 1130 AD.
It should come as no surprise that this historic and enduring city provided the inspiration for one of the most timeless and classic styles Johan Eric has produced yet. The handsome Johan Eric Viborg Collection has a distinctly retro look that is reminiscent of some of the most enduring watches from the 60‘s and 70’s. The minimal three-hand configuration, with raised baton indices and a date window at 3 o’clock exhibits the clean, slim lines of a modern masterpiece.
The Viborg is available in stainless steel, rose gold, and IP black, with a choice of black or silver sunray dials. Each of these timepieces has been fitted with a beautiful, brown or black straight-cut natural leather strap. The watch is powered by a precision Miyota GM10 quartz movement and is water resistant to 100 feet. To complete the distinctive design, the Viborg features a durable mineral glass crystal along with a stainless steel case back that has been engraved with the Coat of Arms of Copenhagen.
This retro-inspired design is equally appropriate for both casual and dressy occasions. Like all Johan Eric watches, the new Viborg has taken the best traditions of Danish Modern design and updated them for the 21st Century. This is a watch for someone who both respects and past and looks forward to the future.
