Versace Versus is a fashion-forward collection with an edgy rock ‘n’ roll spirit, originally conceived by Gianni Versace with sister Donatella Versace as lead designer.

In 2009 Donatella reintroduced Versus, this time in stylistic cooperation with young Scottish designer Christopher Kane, whom she lauded for his talent and for being most “in tune” with the original spirit of Versus.

Donatella says of Kane: “Christopher reminds me of my brother Gianni when he was young. He has the same energy. That is why I asked him to work on Versus. It was the first collection that my brother Gianni let me work on, on my own, so it’s very precious to me.” – British Vogue

Like Versace, the mystique of Versus is centered upon the idea of a world of fashion, glamour and powerful femininity, building on the innovations of Gianni Versace who was a pivotal figure in establishing fashion as an irrevocable part of popular culture. Versus, however, is its own artistic force guided by a youthful and dynamic confidence. Innately creative, the Versus collection is marked by flair and a taste for the unconventional.

Versus Watch Collections

The distinctive Versus timepieces are infused with the same passion that defines everything about Versace. These watches celebrate individuality and self-expression, and radiate modern-chic sensibilities and feminine vigor.

The Versus archetype of personal expression is synonymous with qualities such as “fashionable” and “passionate,” in addition to femininity marked by dynamic self-assuredness and playfulness. This theme appears consistently within the current lineup of Versus watches, which consists of a diverse range that includes the following collections.

The Logo collection is akin to another Versace favorite – the Reve – but recast in a more youthful light, with an energetic dial design in either simple black, or white, or in bright colors.

The Hummingbird collection is ultra-fashionable and distinctly feminine, consisting of a small watch case linked to a charm bracelet that intertwines with a colorful beaded chain. In contrast, a short contrasting tassel streams from one end of the bracelet revealing a playful sense of self.

Get up and moving with the colorful City collection! Large cases displaying Arabic or Roman numerals and large indexes lend practical elements to these highly functional watches. Strap it on anywhere at any time.

The Tokyo collection highlights clean dials set in classic round cases. Some models have bezels set with crystals while others are smooth. Tokyo watches are available in bright colors or in contrasting black or white on steel. The sincere simplicity of the collection is versatile, imbuing confidence with its uncomplicated, complementary design.

The Soho collection splashes color into the world’s most popular watch complication — the chronograph. The unmistakable combination of a large case with brightly colored hands and pushers exudes confidence and urban savvy.

The Hollywood collection is certainly at home on Beverly Boulevard or Rodeo Drive, but is probably more attuned to the Sunset Strip and territory belonging to music idols. Versace style Greek maze are played up on the dial and on the Polyurethane strap, but the really distinct element is the large LED display lit up through crystals like a billboard high above the L.A. skyline.

The Optical collection is chic, with an elaborate chain-loop bracelet and kaleidoscope dial design that declares the notion of ceaseless transformation and metamorphosis that defines the modern woman.

V by V recasts the Versace Eon collection for an edgier audience. The round cases and celestial dials are modern and elegant, but unlike Eon watches, V by V straps are wrapped and stitched to the case like a belt buckle. The look is sophisticated, but quietly reveres the vivacious spirit that exists in every woman.

Paillettes are distinct jewelry pieces with wide bracelets made up of three circular links across the width. The links are echoed as visual elements of the dial making the watch appear cohesive and lively.
