Fortis Daybreaker Watch Collection

by John Sealander

With more than 500 micro-mechanical parts, this extraordinary GMT, alarm, chronometer is one of the most complex timepieces ever made.

Fortis WatchesThe astonishing Fortis Daybreaker is in a league of its own. Created in 2012 in a strictly limited edition of 100 pieces to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Fortis, the Daybreaker represents the culmination of the watchmaker’s art.

Fortis has taken classic Flieger elements and used them to create the ultimate tool watch. This 43 mm C.O.S.C. certified chronometer features a mechanical alarm, a window at 12 o’clock that indicates GMT time, a power reserve indicator for both the alarm and movement, a date window with AM and PM indicators, two chronometer totalizers for 30-minute and 12-hour intervals, and a free running small seconds display.

This mechanical masterpiece is powered by a proprietary Swiss made Fortis Calibre F-2012 automatic movement and is controlled by two independent setting crowns for the alarm and time, as well as three conveniently placed pushers for additional timing functions. A scratch resistant sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on both sides protects the beautiful fluted dial and a massive stainless steel case provides water resistance to 167 feet. This one-of-a-kind timepiece has an exhibition glass back, allowing you to see the astonishing complexity of the precision F-2012 movement at work.

The Daybreaker Collection includes the Stealth edition with a black dial, white lettering and a tachymeter inscribed around the chapter ring. The Recon edition has a cream colored dial with blue lettering and indices. Both models can be equipped with your choice of a luxurious topstitched leather strap, a leather performance strap, a beautiful solid stainless steel bracelet, or a comfortable caoutchouc band. Whatever you choose, you will be wearing an exclusive and unique timepiece that combines sporty elegance with unprecedented functionality.
