Fortis 623.10.42 N.11 Spacematic Day/Date Watch

by John Sealander

This bright new addition to the Fortis Spacematic line is already receiving glowing praise from watch aficionados.

Fortis WatchesInitially introduced in 1962 to commemorate Fortis’s 50th Anniversary, the iconic Fortis Spacematic continues to evolve and become even better. The latest addition to this space inspired watch collection is the innovative new limited edition Fortis Spacematic 623.10.42 N.11. With a beautiful aviator style dial that has been completely coated with superluminova material, this amazing watch offers an entirely new way to view the time after dark.

Instead of luminous hands and numbers, the entire dial glows with a vivid blue afterglow in darkness. Even under the most adverse viewing conditions, the bright luminous dial ensures that you’ll never wonder what time it is with a Spacematic 623.10.42 N.11 on your wrist.

Like other watches in the Spacematic family, the Spacematic 623.10.42 N.11 is powered by a precision, Swiss made 25-jewel ETA 2836-2 movement that is equipped with a fine timing device and an Incabloc shock absorber. The innovative white superluminova dial features a three-hand configuration with a red sweep second hand and a contrasting black bilingual day/date window at 3 o’clock. The easy-to-read dial is characterized by large black Arabic numerals, square dot indices and pencil style hands. The use of an upward pointing arrowhead at 3 o’clock to indicate the correct setting direction and a pair of flanking dots at 12 o’clock is a tribute to early Fortis aviation designs.

To complete the space inspired look, Fortis Spacematic 623.10.42 N.11 has been equipped with a green 20 mm NATO style nylon strap for an authentic military appearance. This no-nonsense timing tool utilizes a durable, two-part 40 mm brushed stainless steel case that has been fitted with an anti-reflective, scratch resistant sapphire crystal and a professional screw-down metal caseback that provides an impressive 330 feet of water resistance. Under water, or above the atmosphere, this is a watch that will never let you down.
