The Fortis tradition of painting the entire length of its aviation watch hands with highly luminous Super-LumiNova material makes these timepieces exceptionally easy to read at night. The chronometer hands are bright orange, providing a clear differentiation between the white time-keeping hands. Even the convenient day-date window includes clear directional arrows to show which direction the crown should be turned when making quick changes. It is little details like these that make the B-42 Pilot Professional Chronograph such a valuable timing tool for professional pilots. Pilots appreciate clarity and know that seconds count in critical situations.
The Fortis B-42 Pilot Professional Chronograph is powered by one of the best chronograph movements ever made: the renowned Valjoux 7750. When this movement was introduced in 1974, it was quickly adopted by the world’s best watchmakers because of its reliability, ease of assembly and ease of maintenance. To view this precision mechanical workhorse, the B-42 Pilot Professional includes an exhibition caseback where the custom Fortis winding rotor and mechanical movement are clearly visible.
This superb aviator’s chronograph has been fitted with a padded black genuine leather strap with contrasting white stitching. The strap has been custom fitted to the case and is fastened with a traditional prong-style buckle. A knurled stainless steel crown emblazoned with the Fortis logo and two well-placed chronograph pushers complete the classic design.
