Fortis, creators of innovative and technologically advanced Swiss timepieces since 1912, has commissioned eccentric POP artist Andora, to utilize his idiosyncratic creativity to imbue the expansion of their wildly successful Art Edition Series with uncommon character.
To be released in the not very distant future, the Fortis Andora Emotions timepiece is certain to capture the attention of both watch enthusiasts and art lovers alike. This limited edition collectors watch exudes the hallmark qualities of both the artist who adorned it with design, as well as the watchmakers who infused it with their technological mastery.
Fortis, ever keen on perpetuating their tradition of incorporating any element of space exploration within their timepieces, employs space age titanium in the construction of the impressive 42 mm case and bracelet, while contrasting soft black rubber accentuates the pushers and crown.
The Andora in its simplest definition is a day/date chronograph, powered by the impressive Valjoux 7750 with 25 jewels and 28,800 vibrations per minute, however its dial, bezel and bracelet clearly set it apart from other chronograph watches in the marketplace.
Reminiscent of the Warhol Era
Andoras’ art, somewhat reminiscent of the Warhol era, boldly presents itself on the dial, bezel and bracelet. The dial’s dual sub chrono counters, are set against unique multi-eyed characters serving as their base, as well as a blue earth at the 9:00 position. The multi-colored uni directional bezel beckons its wearer with a call to focus on the more positive emotions in life through words such as “love,” “live,” “sing,” and “dance” as well as others. The unique artwork carries over to the bracelet in the form of hands displaying faces in their palms and the timepieces’ caseback conveys another inspirational message reminding its wearer to “live your time and determine the content.”
In addition to being a work of art, the Fortis Andora watch features a sapphire crystal with dual sided anti-reflective coating, screw-down caseback, fold over deploying clasp and water resistance to 200 meters.
The watch is limited to just 100 pieces worldwide.
