Roberto Cavalli is an Italian fashion designer known for going against the grain. In the 1970’s he introduced exotic and colorful prints when the rest of the fashion industry was playing it safe with conservative blacks and whites. The Just Cavalli Eclipse R7251168515 presents a dial with applied stylized silver Arabic and baton indexes set against a silver background for a sleek monochromatic look. A lovely geometric triangular guilloche pattern surrounds the illuminated sword hands, which includes a silver “C” for Just Cavalli that blends in as a design element along with the “Just Cavalli” signature. To add some dash to the face, the seconds hand isn’t in a linear line but has a twist, literally, and also adds a punch of purple color that matches the band. An unobtrusive and convenient date aperture sits just above 6 o’clock.
The larger-sized 40 mm stainless steel case is right on trend and is a real highlight of the watch with its sensuous curves, stepped construction and beveled lugs. The blue cabochons on the lugs and in the crown exhibit Cavalli’s craftsmanship and fondness for luxurious details. Bright colors are of the season and the Just Cavalli Eclipse R7251168515 finishes the picture with a striking purple python strap with a buckle closure.
The Just Cavalli Eclipse R7251168545 comes in a slightly smaller 39 mm stainless steel IP gold case but with the same shape and layout that gives the watches in this collection such flair. The difference comes in the dial, composed of mother of pearl surrounded by a chapter ring with gold Arabic numerals and triangular indexes bedecked with diamonds. Illuminated gold hands match the indexes, while a black railroad track on the outer part of the dial marks the minutes. The Just Cavalli “C” and signature also work into the gold theme. That distinctive curvy seconds hand in black matches the black genuine crocodile strap with buckle closure. This time black cabochons replace the blue to keep the tones in balance.
Roberto Cavalli was right when he said that the Just Cavalli line stands on its own as a separate concept with its own personality—and these watches have it in abundance.
