The word magnum derives from the Latin word magnus, meaning “great,” and has several associations to both names and products. The texture of the dial on this watch is prevalent among the different Magnum models, with an engraved pin-stripe design that adds depth to an otherwise clean dial. Another depth-adding element is the chapter ring, which has a minute track along its circumference. The ring is set on top of the dial base and is slightly angled, with hour markers extending from it, overlapping the base of the dial. Bold numerals are applied atop for a multi-layered effect. The date wheel on this watch is partly open displaying several numbers; an arrow specifies the exact date. Numerals on the date wheel are luminous for ease of legibility. Most models in the collection feature partly skeletonized hands with luminous paint coating the solid areas.
All of these features are enclosed by style-driven stainless steel cases. The three-handed model here features six pivot points, four of which are highlighted by large polished screws. Models with square cases are also available. Magnum watches are water resistant to 165 feet, have a mineral glass front crystal and quartz movements. The straps are made from rubber in keeping with the sporty tone but are neatly integrated into with the case for a modern and sophisticated appearance.
