Fashion and Watch Color Trends for Fall 2015

Color Trends for Fall 2015 Fashion and Watches

Cozy up to the hottest colors for Fall 2015, a universally flattering range of nature-inspired hues that make saying goodbye to summer a bit easier.

Reflecting the increasing style-consciousness of today’s man, the menswear shows went beyond the usual neutrals to bring in bolder colors. In the women’s ready-to-wear collections, designers’ use of color recalled some of the biggest style moments of the 20th century, from the Art Deco glamour of the 1920s to the bohemian chic of the 1970s. It’s simple to transition into the new season by making a style statement with a watch in one of these versatile shades.

Cashmere Rose

This muted pink feels vintage and at the same time totally of-the-moment, just as this 70s-inspired Versace dress would be right at home at Coachella. Instead of an in-your-face bubblegum, Cashmere Rose evokes an earthy vibe that is perfectly picked up in the textured leather band of the Versace Dylos Lady VQD010015. Its softness is the ideal counterpoint to classic Versace details like the studs marking the hours and the Greek key pattern surrounding the face.

Biscay Blue

The intensely saturated color in this Alberta Ferretti gown adds to the sumptuousness of the fabric and drape, while also bringing this 1920s-inspired silhouette into the 21st century. (If Jay Gatsby invited you to a party next week, this is what you would wear.) With a timepiece like the Ferragamo Idillio Chronograph FI3030014, you can create your own Gatsby moment. The combination of the rich, modern hue with the timeless luxury of a mother-of-pearl face and yellow gold plating makes it a modern heirloom.

Amethyst Orchid

This beautiful jewel tone is just right for this gem of an evening gown from Tadashi Shoji. The nude underlay emphasizes the rippling skirt, creating a whole range of shades with just one color. The rippling effect on the silver face of the Ferragamo Intreccio FIC010015 is similarly elegant. The motif echoes a structural weaving technique Salvatore Ferragamo often used, called intreccio, layering woven material in a single hue to create deep color and texture.

Oak Buff

Shades of yellow have been standouts for several seasons, and this fall the forecast calls for this deeper yet comforting tone. This look from Zac Posen uses Oak Buff to outstanding effect, the single color playing up the textural contrast of luminous fabric and plush fur. The Versace Vanity P5Q80D999 S999 brings the same impact, with the mix of matte and polished golds in the face and bezel juxtaposed against a textured calfskin band.

Marsala

Christian Dior menswear is consistently sharp-lined and sculptural, but usually sticks to shades of black and gray. This season, Dior Homme stayed true to that classic styling while adding a new neutral—the sophisticated yet earthy Marsala. This versatile shade can be incorporated into any man’s wardrobe. The Ferragamo 1898 Sport FF322 0015 is a simple way to work this color into your look, and with a canvas band it’s as functional as it is stylish.

Dried Herb

Ready to push the color envelope a bit further? This bolder neutral—layered in a variety of textures in this look from Coach—isn’t just for camouflage. Set off against bold black, this organic shade stands out from the crowd. Paired with pops of white and a black leather band in the Fortis Flieger Cockpit 595.11.16 L.01, Dried Herb elevates the look of this modern timepiece.

Stormy Weather

Forget 50 Shades of Grey—this cool, blue-tinged gray is the only shade you’ll need for fall. Gray is the ultimate workhorse neutral in both men’s and women’s wear; you can pair it with ivory or camel, contrast it with pops of brightness, or of course deepen it with black. No matter what, you won’t go wrong. The same can be said for the Gevril Columbus Circle 2006. Like Stormy Weather, it’s handsome but straightforward, with multiple functions and luminous hands for maximum utility.

Cadmium Orange

If you’re ready to take the plunge into some serious color, a statement piece in this vibrant yet understated bright is the way to do it. You can go major, like in this trendy coat from Ami, but you can also take a more subtle approach. A pop of color—like when your cuff reveals the Haurex Caimano N1354UNO—shows that you can have fun with fashion while still being appropriate for the office. With a rubber band and water resistance, this watch is perfect for that winter beach getaway, too.

The best news yet? Fall’s hot colors work for either sex, so there are no limits to how you can style them. And starting off with an exceptional accessory is the ideal way to work one of these new hues into your wardrobe.

Colors of Spring/Summer 2015 Men’s Fashion and Watches

Salvatore Ferragamo Spring Summer 2015 Runway Show

When it comes to accessorizing, women have loads of options. For a man, the single most important accessory is the watch on his wrist. With spring right around the corner it’s time to refresh your look with by matching the hottest colors of the season in your dress and timepiece. Colors that are getting attention this spring are perennial classics like navy blue and charcoal gray, as well as earthy tones like burgundy and olive green.

Use your watch as a chance to make a bold statement that complements your new look. Keep your eyes peeled for unique details like graphic face designs, exhibition windows, embossed leather and, of course, a great pop of color.

Marsala

The double-breasted suit is a resurgent classic, but Dolce&Gabbana adds an eye-catching twist as only they can. To begin, D&G started with a rich, Marsala hue and then set it off with contrasting gray detailing on the lapels, buttons, and pockets. A vest just barely peeking out and ultra skinny tie finish off the look. The only thing that’s missing is this limited edition, Gevril Avenue of the Americas with its burgundy, alligator-embossed band and oversized rose gold numbers on the face. This one-of-a-kind timepiece, one of only 500 in existence, is the perfect accessory to make you stand out from the crowd.

Dusk Blue

On a crisp day in early spring, a stylish summer jacket like this one from Fendi is a must. This material combines preppy plaid and a smart casual cut with shades of denim blue and a bohemian tie-dye effect for an unexpected and unique piece. When paired with a simple chino, this jacket will really pop and turn heads when you walk down the street. Pick up the shades of dusky denim throughout the jacket with the graphic planetarium pattern face of this polished and brushed stainless-steel Gattinoni Draco timepiece.

Woodbine

Olive green is a menswear staple thanks to its versatility and military vibe. But brands like Y Project are elevating this cool, neutral color by applying it to upscale fabrics like this tailored short paired with a motorcycle jacket-inspired topper and matching t-shirt. Keep a bit of a rugged touch to the look with the Fortis Flieger Cockpit. The nylon strap and compass-inspired face with luminous hands and hour markers make it a watch that can go from camping to cocktails.

Classic Blue

If there’s one color that never gets old it’s blue. No matter which shade of blue you choose, you can’t go wrong with this classic color. One essential staple is a Breton stripe shirt like this one from Michael Kors. Kors pairs the top with a cuffed jean and braided leather sandals and belt for the ultimate summer look. If you prefer a clean and classic look try the limited edition, stainless steel Ferragamo Lungarno Chronograph.

Glacier Gray

Daring trendsetters are all about playing with the proportions of classic suits. The Christopher Lemaire sleek, dove gray suit is a perfect example of how a classic suit can be experimented with. Oversized jacket pockets, a sweatpant-style cuff on the pants, and a relaxed overall fit make this look casual despite being a suit. The Rudiger Stuttgart is also sophisticated with a twist thanks to an exhibition window in the face, showing off the watch’s beautiful mechanics. Break up the gray palette with a black calfskin strap with alligator pattern.

Titanium

Dolce & Gabbana’s double-breasted suit has an entirely different feel in charcoal gray instead of burgundy. The classic gray pinstripe makes the suit office appropriate but the addition of a contrast lapel and patterned shirt and tie add enough style to wow on a night on the town. Add another lighthearted touch with the Gevril Columbus Circle, which incorporates the astrological symbols for days of the week as a whimsical, conversation-starting detail.

What are you waiting for? Mix things up and try these coordinating looks on for size.

Colors of Spring/Summer 2015 Women’s Fashion and Watches

Elie Saab By Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2015

It may still be cold outside, but when it comes to fashion, spring is already here. Racks are already overflowing with next season’s palette of pastel and Easter egg inspired hues complemented by soft, earthy neutrals. Eager to get into those juicy spring colors early? Luckily, accessories are getting the same color treatment and they’re ready to be shown off right away.

Scuba Blue

Elie Saab is ready for a summer getaway with this bohemian chic tie-dye gown with sequin detailing. Pick up the ocean- and sunset-inspired hues of the dress by pairing it with the equally colorful Ferragamo Lirica. Thanks to a diamond-embellished, mother of pearl dial face, this watch will not be outdone by the shimmering sequins of its counterpart.

Strawberry Ice

Cushnie et Ochs’ ladylike, pastel cocktail dress is as sexy as it is sweet thanks to a sheer panel showing off a flash of leg. Elevate the look even further with a pink Ferragamo Minuetto with mother of pearl face and diamond detailing. The only accessory you’ll still be missing is a strawberry ice cream cone to complete the look. Careful not to drip…

Tangerine

Summer doesn’t just mean dressing for the beach or resort. This Gucci girl is ready to turn heads in the street of Milan in a drop shoulder tangerine dress with scarf detail around the neck. Suede ankle booties, a woven belt and round sunglasses keep the 70s vibe of the dress intact. Fellow Italian fashion powerhouse Versace offers an equally sunny complement with the Versace Vanity and its tangerine face and band. Iconic elements like the brand’s Medusa hardware and Greek key pattern make this a classic in the making.

Custard

This Erin Fetherston dress may have a simple silhouette but it’s anything but basic thanks to its delicate metallic embroidery, intricate floral pattern, and sensual cutout just below the bustline. When paired with a classic pump it’s a perfect look for an elegant garden party. The ultimate finishing touch is a watch that also doubles as jewelry like the limited edition Gevril Avenue of Americas Glamour with a custard yellow strap and rectangular face rimmed with a whopping 187 full cut diamonds totaling more than two carats.

Marsala

Cropped pants are all the rage right now and this Jenny Packham iteration with an embellished waistband and equally embellished blouse is airy and quintessentially chic. Perfect for a warm, summer night out on the town, this sleek, contemporary style begs for an equally contemporary watch like an Johan Eric Orstead with its matching wine-colored satin strap and unique perforated face.

Glacier Gray

Avant garde designer Haider Ackermann makes gray anything but gloomy by combining rich tones and varied textures. There’s only one thing missing – a sleek silver watch like the Ferragamo Grande Maison. The abstract design of the mother of pearl face has an edgy, modern feel that would fit seamlessly into this stern but elegant glacier gray masterpiece of an outfit.

Aquamarine

This season, there’s no such thing as too many shades of blue according to the queen of colorblocking Roksanda Ilincic. This outfit combines aquamarine and sky blue, set off by a flourish of intense red on the underside of a billowy pleat that extends across the left shoulder. If you’re going to be bold, either go big or go home. And this dress goes all out. Top off the look with this turquoise, monochromatic Versus Tokyo. Though the strap looks metallic, the unexpected use of rubber makes the piece especially fashion-forward.

Get into the spirit of spring early this year by embracing this warm and welcoming palette of colors that will make the cold and washed out winter seem like a lifetime ago.

Madonna Face of Versace Spring/Summer 2015

Madonna Wears Versace Watch in Versace 2015 Spring Summer Campaign

Madonna: Real True Versace Fashion Icon

You simply can’t avoid Madonna when she decides to grace the world with her newest concern. This time it’s a fashion hook-up with a series of dramatic and stunning photos. Just released by Versace for their new Spring/Summer 2015 ad campaign, Madonna’s new photo shoot is riveting.

Photographed by fashion photo royalty Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the Versace campaign reminds us why we still love Madonna. She’s an everlasting symbol of female sexual power.

When it comes to powerhouse fashion icons, Donatella Versace has been holding her own for over twenty years as chief designer and VP of the always relevant Versace Group. So it makes perfect sense that Versace has once again named Madonna the “Face of Versace’s Spring 2015 Campaign.” In discussing why she chose Madonna for the campaign, Donatella stated, “Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace.”

Her words were sprinkled with references to power, strength, and fearlessness. Speaking to how she directed the photo shoot, Donatella says she told Madonna to show vulnerability but also told her, “I want you like I know you…strong, determined, and fearless.”

Indeed, Mert and Marcus have captured Madonna in a rare eyes-down demure state, coyly biting her finger and looking at us from behind a lock of hair. Yet, she somehow still manages to look as powerful as ever! Perhaps it’s the bold menswear-style accessories, the powerful lines of the body-con tube top, and the stark black and white format chosen by the photographers.

Pure Madonna, Not Photoshopped

Or perhaps it’s Madonna herself, who’s perfectly lean and toned. Nothing says power like a strong body, and Madonna has taught us this for decades now. Even at 56, she seems more powerful than ever.

Madonna looks incredible in the Versace line, which features pieces molded to the body. Some items are glammed up with glittery fabric, bold shapes, and midriff-baring styles, absolutely perfect for Madonna and her trim physique. It’s as if Madonna and Versace were made for one another.

Madonna and Versace Go Way Back

Versace is an iconic fashion line for women who can command an opulent look, dressing some of the world’s most alluring women for almost 40 years. Since Donatella took over, Madonna has served as the face of Versace at regular intervals.

Every ten years, Madonna and Versace have teamed up for a partnership featuring the Queen of Pop as the face of Versace. She lends her own iconic branding to the brand’s equally iconic look for a match made in branding heaven. It’s hard to say which name is bigger!

Power, Opulence, and Glam

Like Madonna, the quintessential look of Versace can be described as strong and sexy… sometimes even strict, with a touch of PVC here and a corset dress there. Both also share a taste for the dramatic, although always tastefully executed and fabulously trend-setting. Remember J Lo’s 2000 Grammy Awards jungle dress? The green one cut way down to there? That was Versace.

For Madonna, aligning herself with the Versace brand has always been easy and vice versa. That’s because both represent power, affluence, and classic glamour.

The perfect pairing of the pop culture queen and the renowned fashion house might also be attributed to the decades-long friendship between Madonna and Donatella Versace. Donatella again summed it up nicely when she said, “I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful and directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015.”

Now, it’s been three decades and four Versace modeling campaigns for Madonna: In 1995, she first modeled for her new friend in an ad campaign featuring Palm Beach-inspired rich housewife luxury, dressed in 1930’s style silk gowns, and a corset dress. Within the same year, Madonna was also featured in the Fall/Winter collection.

In 2005, Madonna modeled for Versace again; this time the campaign featured opulence galore, plus Donatella’s love of the flared trouser with Madonna rocking the look. Now in 2015, we see Madonna again in Versace wearing iconic mesh.

Madonna, the True Icon of Pop

This year, Madonna reinforces her position as the Queen of Pop with several key moves, one of which is the release of her highly anticipated new album. Additionally, Madonna looked fabulous as she posed topless for Interview Magazine. The Versace campaign is simply one of several ways in which she’s establishing her dominance in a world typically ruled by younger women.

Now that Madonna has unseated Lady Gaga as the face of Versace, there’s a power shift in the pop culture/fashion world. Fashion enthusiasts rarely mention that Madonna is twice Gaga’s age. Both Donatella and Madonna are in their 50s, making the new campaign a testament to female power at any age.

Pantone Selects Marsala as 2015 Color of the Year

Marsala is the Color of 2015

by John Sealander

In 2015, these rich, robust red-brown tones will add a sophisticated, earthy elegance to any wrist.

Pantone has selected Marsala as its 2015 color of the year. Like the hearty, fortified red wine that gave this intriguing color its name, Marsala is a subtly seductive shade that adds warmth and sophistication to everything from fashion, to home furnishings, industrial design and beauty products. It’s not surprising that some of the world’s leading luxury brands have already chosen to feature this tastefully elegant shade on some of their most popular timepieces.

Ferragamo, Versace, Gevril, JOWISSA, and Johan Eric are all offering a beautiful selection of Marsala hued timepieces for 2015. From the luxurious Ferragamo Gancino or Versace V-Signature models to the affordable Johan Eric Orstead, Marsala’s signature red-brown tones will enhance and flatter almost any outfit.

The gorgeous 36 mm Ferragamo Gancino Sparkling features an IP gold case with 56 brilliant white diamonds that embellish the dial, bezel and decorative charm at 4 o’clock. Completing the elegant design with its Gancino inspired dial is a stunning Marsala colored lizard band.

The equally regal 24 mm Ferragamo Gancino Soirée pairs a Marsala dial featuring a classic two-hand configuration with a croco-embossed Marsala leather band to create the perfect dress watch. This IP gold plated beauty features a unique Gancino shaped case with an engraved Salvatore Ferragamo logo on one of the asymmetrical lugs.

The sensational Versace V-Signature combines a rich Marsala color palatte in the dial and cuff style strap with signature embellishments like IP gold Greek key lugs and an IP gold bezel engraved with a repeating Greek key pattern. This exciting two-hand configuration can be worn with both dress and casual styles.

The elegant Gevril Avenue of Americas pairs a luxurious padded and top stitched Marsala colored crocodile band with Gevril’s classically beautiful rectangular case. This stunning 32 mm luxury timepiece features a three-hand configuration with raised rose gold applied numbers and a convenient date window at 6 o’clock.

The 32 mm Jowissa Safira 99 combines a Marsala dial and padded leather band with Jowissa’s unique multi-faceted sapphire crystal bezel. The sophisticated two-hand configuration is perfect for any dressy occasion.

The contemporary looking Johan Eric Orstead enhances a unique perforated dial that provides a glimpse of the watch’s inner workings with distinctive Marsala colored hands and an elegant Marsala satin band. Sparkling Swarovski crystals serve as indices in this surprisingly affordable masterpiece.

The earthy and robust colors found on these exceptional timepieces are exceptionally flattering against many skin tones. Marsala is already considered a ‘go-to” color for cosmetics and beauty products. Since this versatile hue is already enhancing fashionable women’s nails, lips, and hair, it just makes sense that it would be equally flattering on a woman’s wrist.

Versus Wows at WWD Magic Las Vegas August 2014

Versus Watches Showcase at WWD Magic 2014

by Meehna Goldsmith

Versus WatchesTwo times a year buyers, editors as well as bloggers flock to Las Vegas for the WWD Magic fashion trade show held in the Las Vegas Convention Center. A show catering to young women and teens, it’s the place to be to find out the latest styles for the upcoming season. The show is so influential because trends aren’t just discovered here, they’re created. In over 5,000 brands vying for attention, the Versus by Versace booth stands out as a destination.

Designed for hip, young fashionistas, Versus is the edgier side to Versace. According to Donatella Versace, the Creative Director, Versus is the brand’s rock-n-roll soul. The line includes everything from clothing and shoes to accessories, such as watches.

Versus Setting the Trend for Fashionistas

“Watches are a hot accessory, an easy way to add personality to an outfit,” says Kari Allen, President of Versace Timepieces USA. “Our Versus watches set the trend for fashionistas with their youthful vibe and progressive style.” She adds, “The Versus Miami, Key Biscayne, Globe and Aventura collections particularly caught the eye of the fashion forward crowd.”

While all the Versus watches possess character and presence, there were four collections that took center stage.

Versus Miami Collection

Both men and women gravitated to the Versus Miami, a bold timepiece encapsulating a rock-n-roll spirit. In a 40 mm case, the watch features the Versus lion on the dial. In order not to detract from the feline image, the designers kept the dial clean by not including a seconds hand and using baton indexes and sword hands. Showing off some spunk are the Versus-studded bezel and the black leather strap sporting the Versus safety pins.

Versus Key Biscane Collection

For the woman with a rebel edge, the Key Biscayne was just the right sensibility. It merges high style with attitude just like the South Florida island it’s named after. The collection pops with color including dials in pink, green, orange, white and black set against a raised metal chapter ring with Versus studs acting as indexes at the quarter hours. Don’t expect a regular strap here. This one includes a working metal zipper on a topstitched leather strap that includes the Versus Lion safety pins.

Versus Globe Collection

Only Versace could make bigger the way to go when everyone else is trending smaller. At a whopping 50 mm, the Versus Globe draws a line in the sand and dares anyone to question its stature. With a three-subdial layout at 12, 9 and 6 o’clock, the Globe looks like a chronograph, but looks can be deceiving. The subdials show the day, date and a 24-hour counter. Substantial Arabic numerals circle the dial with contrast added by shading the quarter hours in a separate color. The dials are offered in a sleek selection of blue, black and silver. Cases come in stainless steel, IP black, IP rose gold and IP yellow gold, which secure to the wrist with a PV black strap with overstitching.

Versus Aventura Collection

A chronograph is the quintessential male complication. Associated with science, aviation and popularized in car racing, it is a helpful tool to measure intervals of time. Versace takes this traditional complication and gives it a fashionable makeover with the Aventura.

The dial keeps it classic with a tri-compax layout of subdials at 3, 6, and 9 o’clock. Baton markers with lumed tips circle the dial crowned by an Arabic numeral 12, while a tachymeter circles the flange. The sword hands also get the lume treatment to help with visibility. A convenient date aperture resides at 4 o’clock. The Aventura mixes it up on the case. The bezel is embellished with the signature Versus pyramids anchored by 6 Allen bolts. The crown and crown guards also add to the rebellious stance of the Aventura. Dial options include silver, white and black and cases in stainless and black on leather or bracelet straps.

From the response of the crowds the Versace Versus watch collections received at the WWD Magic Show in Las Vegas, it’s clear Versace is still a leader in setting the stage for the next wave of fashion.
