The 44 mm GV2 Montreux is spectacular. This superb limited edition chronograph features a unique chronograph movement that takes timing events to a new level. In watch mode, the hands function as any three-hand configuration timepiece. In chronograph mode, the three hands turn into hour, minute, and second totalizers. Even more amazingly, the big date display becomes an accurate 1/100 of a second totalizer. Two well-placed pushers and a multi-function crown control this high-tech masterpiece. Once you get used to the accuracy and versatility of this innovative timepiece, you never go back to conventional chronographs.
The GV2 Montreux isn’t just a technological marvel; it’s an artistic marvel as well. The beautiful textured dial is engraved with an intricate guilloché pattern with two large date wheels that rotate in opposite directions, revealing the date through a whimsical brass plate at 6 o’clock. Traditional blued Feuille hands, a fluted onion crown, and a functional tachymeter scale on the chapter ring complete the inspired design. The beautiful Montreux chronograph is available in four variations. The Collection includes stainless steel, IP rose gold, and IP yellow gold models that can fitted with a choice of a luxurious black or dark brown patterned leather strap.
Powering the GV2 Montreux is a customized Swiss made Soprod FM13D quartz movement that sets new standards for analog display timekeeping. An anti-reflective, scratch resistant sapphire crystal protects the beautiful dial. Protecting the high-tech movement is a durable stainless case with a professional screw down case back that is water resistant to 165 feet. Like all GV2 timepieces, the Montreux Collection carries a two-year manufacturer’s warranty.

From its beginnings, Versace has always taken the road less traveled with its progressive and trailblazing style, leading the fashion world in fresh directions. The brand has introduced such disparate areas as rock and roll, theatre, ballet and celebrity into a coherent whole. These signatures are on full display in the Versace Urban Gent men’s and Day Glam women’s watches.
The Versace Urban Gent is a dress watch that certainly lives up to its name. For the sophisticated gentleman, it plays the part with elegance and style that exhibits a man’s fashionable taste. Since this is a Versace timepiece, the Urban Gent offers a twist to the traditional dress watch, giving it both originality and a fashion-forward look.
Versace crafted the Urban Gent in a modern 44 mm stainless steel case with beveled lugs, disrupting the idea that a dress watch has to come in a smaller size to qualify in the category. Details are the specialty of Versace and the Urban Gent abounds with them. The dial features applied Roman numerals (at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock) and bar indicators to mark the hours, with the iconic Medusa head presiding at 12 o’clock. The other iconic hallmark of Versace, the Greek key, appears around a decorative sunken dial, which houses the sunken off-center sub-seconds and date window within. The layering of the dial provides a visually compelling texture and 3-D effect.
Offered with a white, black or blue dial, the Urban Gent comes in a stainless steel, IP rose gold and IP black case and is produced in a limited edition of 500 pieces.
For women, Versace introduced the 38 mm Day Glam. Since women have become increasingly attracted to complications, Versace provided with the popular chronograph done in a way that is inimitably Versace.
Though the chronograph was born as a men’s watch with masculine styling, Versace managed to combine the sporty feel of a chrono in a feminine package. The Day Glam comes in a nicely proportioned 38 mm stainless steel case with faceted lugs that allows room for good dial visibility while taking into account a woman’s wrist size.
The mother-of-pearl dial features golden illuminated skeletonized hands with illuminated golden applied baton markers anchored by the iconic Medusa head, also in gold. In a tri-compax layout, the chronograph times intervals in hours, minutes and seconds and is operated by the two pushers in the case located at 2 and 4 o’clock. There is also a tachymeter scale around the beveled chapter ring of the dial and a date window at 4 o’clock.
The Versace Day Glam is offered in an array of fluorescent colors: turquoise, bronze, candy pink, and black and white with the nice touch of a matching cabochon capping the crown. Cases are available in stainless steel or IP rose gold and wrap around the wrist with matching leather straps. There is also the option of a two-tone metal bracelet with geometric central elements.
Versace also debuted two exciting watch additions to the Versus line, which is the rock and roll soul of Versace. The Versus Key Biscane and Coconut Grove models take their inspiration from the international style found in South Florida, where fashionistas set the tone.
The Key Biscane is dressed up like a rock and roll star with its edgy looks and daring design. First glance draws attention to the band, which frames the dial. A real working zipper is embedded in the topstitched leather strap. But the embellishments don’t stop there. The hallmark Versus Lion safety pin hangs from the bottom lug in a cut out circle.
Since the strap makes such a strong statement, the dial goes simpler in style so as not to overwhelm the aesthetic. It features dauphine hands and a raised metal chapter ring that hosts four Versus studs for indices at the quarter hours. The Versus logo is placed prominently in the 12 o’clock position.
The Key Biscane comes in a choice of lively dial colors marking the season, such as white, black, orange, fuchsia and lime green that match the band. Depending upon the color, the watch sits in a stainless steel or IP yellow gold case.
As indicated by its name, the Coconut Grove watch is a bit tamer than the Key Biscane but no less fashionable and hip. In Miami-Dade County, Coconut Grove is the oldest modern neighborhood in Miami so you would expect sophistication from a watch named in its honor. The Coconut Grove comes through in spades.
The Coconut Grove’s dial is like a trompe l’oeil painting with its geometric Versus stud pattern that gives a three dimensional effect. Dauphine hands circle round applied golden baton markers. Because of the clever pattern, the eye is continually drawn into the illusion of the shifting dial.
The Coconut Grove case gets a bit saucier by placing studs on the bezel, revealing that rock and roll soul with flair. It comes in a 38 mm round case strapped to the wrist with a linked bracelet featuring the Versus studs. There are several selections in the collection including dials in shades of white, black and gold on stainless steel, IP gold or two-tone bracelets.
There was good reason that customers flocked to the Versace and Versus watch booths. They created a buzz because their designs always foretell the fashion-forward look. But that’s not unusual for Versace.
People didn’t have to travel all the way to Switzerland to get hands on with the latest releases from the Ferragamo watch collection. One of the most important luxury trade shows took place in the United States in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the spectacular Wynn Hotel from May 28th-June 2nd. In its 17th year Las Vegas Couture 2014 hosted retailers, designers and manufacturers to showcase the best the industry had to offer.
Ferragamo is always a favorite and attendees flocked to the Salvatore Ferragamo watch booth to view the latest offerings. Completely redesigned for this year, the booth provided a perfect backdrop for the watches using deep red coloring for the displays and gauzy curtains that reminded of Ferragamo haute couture fabric, for a completely luxurious and comfortable experience.
Extolled for their trendsetting and sumptuous designs, the powerhouse fashion brand didn’t disappoint. They presented two new exciting watch collections that caused a stir, one for men and the other for women.
For the men, Ferragamo took on the ever popular dive watch. With the Ferragamo 1898 Sport Collection, the house crafted a timepiece that not only meets the specifications for underwater activities with panache but also gives the category a contemporary and modern style. In a perfectly sized 43 mm stainless steel case, the Ferragamo 1898 Sport Collection keeps time with a unidirectional bezel and can deep dive to 660 feet while still maintaining its water resistance.
The Ferragamo 1898 Sport Collection will elevate everything from casual attire to both wet and dry suits, making it the perfect all around watch. Appealing to different tastes, the Ferragamo 1898 Sport Collection is offered in six eye-catching styles that feature a black and white dial in a choice of stainless steel and stainless steel and IP gold bracelets, as well as an option with a two-tone caoutchouc strap.
In addition to debuting the irresistible Ferragamo 1898 Sport Collection dive watch for men, Ferragamo also wowed women with the new Ferragamo Buckle Watch Collection. The designers used the iconic Ferragamo Gancino symbol and translated it into a watch that’s not only beautiful but also highly original.
In the shape of a clasp (English translation for gancino), the design feels like a work of art on the wrist through its use of negative space and asymmetrical layout. The top part of the case resembles the fastening element of the buckle while the time only watch dial resides in the bottom of the buckle shape, with the crown artistically placed on top.
The Ferragamo Buckle Collection comes in a 37 mm stainless steel or IP gold case with dial colors in champagne, silver, dark brown and black, which are accentuated by the dashing details of guilloche and four genuine diamond indices. The six different band variations add nice pops of color, including tobacco, orange, black and fuchsia. The Ferragamo Buckle Watch Collection was designed to match the new and very stylish eyewear Buckle Collection.
It was clear the attendees were thrilled with what they saw at Ferragamo’s watch booth. “The overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic response to our 2014 collection, particularly for the new Buckle series and 1898 Sport line, has confirmed our very aggressive growth plans for this year and beyond,” said Paul Ziff, President of Ferragamo Timepieces.
From the crowd’s reaction to the Ferragamo Buckle Collection and 1989 Sport Collection it’s clear the brand has yet again captured the imagination and hearts of fashionistas who demand elegance, sophistication and high craftsmanship.

Versus Brings its Unique Brand of Magic Back to Las Vegas for WWD Magic 2014
The WWD Magic Show, the fashion trade show held twice each year at the Las Vegas Convention Center, is the perfect venue for a hip, young brand like Versus. This is where the most influential fashion editors, buyers, and bloggers gather to learn what today’s fashion-forward teens and young women will be wearing this season.
According to Kari Allen, President of Versace Timepieces USA, attending WWD Magic has become an essential part of the brand’s marketing plan. “This is where we learn what today’s young trendsetters are wanting and wearing,” says Allen. “It’s also where some the retail industry’s top buyers have learned about Versus,” she adds.
Every year, WWD Magic becomes more essential for the fashion world. With more than 5000 emerging and established brands in attendance and an order volume of over $200 million a day, the show has become a major forum for the entire fashion industry. Emerging trends are not only discussed at WWD Magic, they are created.
Wristwatches as an essential fashion accessory has been an emerging trend for several years now and 2014 saw the importance of watches to fashion buyers continue to accelerate. Versus was ready for all the attention with its best collections ever. Versus watches have always been on the cutting edge of fashion, and 2014 was no exception.
Versus addressed the growing popularity of animal prints by adding zebra, camo and leopard patterns to its mainstay Tokyo line. These wild new models also feature acetate straps with deployment buckles featuring the same animal patterns.
The exciting 38 mm Versus Sertie also takes advantage of the renewed interest in color and prints with an exciting lineup of solid colors and wild patterns. The fashion forward Sertie also features a unique sophisticated bezel with enamel inserts.
The growing importance of street style was addressed with the edgy unisex Versus Less line. These 42 mm aluminum timepieces feature edgy “décor” banners on the lower halves of the dials, instead of a traditional logo and are available in a variety of fashion forward colors with matching canvas Zebra patterned straps.
Add these exciting collections to Versus lines like the popular Miami, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Logo, and Manhattan and you can see why the Versus brand remains the rock ‘n’ roll soul of Versace. WWD Magic will determine what you’ll be seeing in stores this Summer and Versus will determine what will be on women’s wrists.

In the world of haute couture Versace has a reputation for taking a more radical approach to designer wear. The house practically makes it a philosophy to take chances on the runway, pushing the limits while at the same time redefining what is acceptable in high fashion. Thus, the choice of Lady Gaga to represent the face of Versace in the Spring 2014 is a natural fit.
Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in New York City, Lady Gaga still calls the Big Apple home. No one could accuse Lady Gaga of being one note; she is a multi-talent with the titles recording artist, fashion designer, actress, record producer and philanthropist to her name.
Lady Gaga doesn’t do anything small. She is recognized as much for her award winning albums as she is for her flamboyant dress, performances and music videos. During her shows and out in public, she’s been known to don the high-concept ensembles of labels including Comme Des Garcons, Louis Vuitton, and, of course, Versace.
Donatella Versace, lead designer of the family-owned brand, also creates a stir with her daring clothing choices and persona, which are reflected in the brand. Both women have a penchant for provocation. For example, Versace has brought Gothic looks to the runway while Lady Gaga vamped it up in a meat dress for her appearance at the 2010 MTV music awards.
Lady Gaga and Donatella have been friends for a long time. Lady Gaga even wrote a track on her latest album ARTPOP called “Donatella”. She describes the song as about celebrating being a fearless female, proud of who you are and not caring what people say about you. The song certainly sums up both women’s attitudes.
If you take a look at Donatella and Lady Gaga side by side there’s no denying that Gaga could be Donatella’s little sis. In the last year or so the personal relationship between the two has evolved into a professional one as well. Lady Gaga wore custom costumes by Versace when she hosted Saturday Night Live in November of last year and even tweeted about her garb, implying a more formal arrangement was in the works. In one of her performances on the late-night show, Lady Gaga gave a stunning turn as a showgirl in a gold and sequin-embellished fringed corset by Versace. This jaw-dropping combination of performance and dress ensemble demonstrated what a great match the two brands are together.
Based on what came down the runways for the Spring and Summer shows, it seems Lady Gaga will be outfitted in short skirts, chains and metallic Medusa head medallions. She started officially sporting her sassy Versace garb this month. The seductive campaign was shot by fashion favorites Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

After a lifetime filled with mystery and dreams, it required a fairy tale to capture the inspiration, love, and sacrifice that made Salvatore Ferragamo the world’s master shoemaker.
“White Shoe” is a Ferragamo fairy tale, based on the first shoe that the legendary designer created for his sister to wear for her first communion. This masterful 24-minute film was commissioned by the legendary fashion label to tell the story of the brand’s founder through a heartwarming cinematic fairy tale showing the designer as a child. The film made its debut in April of 2013 and will run through March of 2014 at the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, Italy as part of the museum’s “The Amazing Shoemaker” exhibition.
The museum, dedicated to the life and work of Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo, contains over 10,000 examples of the iconic shoes created by the designer from the 1920’s until his death in 1960. After his death, this collection was expanded by his widow and children and now includes films, press clippings, advertising materials, clothes and accessories from the 1950s to the present day.
The short film Ferragamo’s “White Shoe” was commissioned by the brand for the launch of a major exhibition called “The Amazing Shoemaker” at the museum. This beautifully executed fairy tale is sure to delight and educate fans of Ferragamo as it forms the foundation for the famous brand through a whimsical childhood tale of love, sacrifice, and a struggle to become the best.
The fanciful story is told without dialogue, allowing it to reach a global audience without a language barrier. The cinematic tribute to the legendary designer was written and directed by Mauro Borrelli, who was a conceptual artist for two of the popular “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
According to Paul Farkas, founder of the trend setting Accessory2 website, “’White Shoe’ demonstrates a luxury brand that is more than coveted pieces and collections.” Farkas says the film shows that fashion can play a key role at pivotal times in life, providing both joy and personal growth.
Although Salvatore Ferragamo was a shoemaker by trade, he would be the first to acknowledge the importance of a fine timepiece in the amazing world of fashion he helped to create. Watch aficionados around the world now have the same admiration and respect for Ferragamo watches as his early fans had for his famous shoes. Perhaps the Amazing Shoemaker depicted in the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum’s fanciful fairy tale has simply become an amazing designer of all things fashionable.
