Fashion and Watch Color Trends for Fall 2015

Color Trends for Fall 2015 Fashion and Watches

Cozy up to the hottest colors for Fall 2015, a universally flattering range of nature-inspired hues that make saying goodbye to summer a bit easier.

Reflecting the increasing style-consciousness of today’s man, the menswear shows went beyond the usual neutrals to bring in bolder colors. In the women’s ready-to-wear collections, designers’ use of color recalled some of the biggest style moments of the 20th century, from the Art Deco glamour of the 1920s to the bohemian chic of the 1970s. It’s simple to transition into the new season by making a style statement with a watch in one of these versatile shades.

Cashmere Rose

This muted pink feels vintage and at the same time totally of-the-moment, just as this 70s-inspired Versace dress would be right at home at Coachella. Instead of an in-your-face bubblegum, Cashmere Rose evokes an earthy vibe that is perfectly picked up in the textured leather band of the Versace Dylos Lady VQD010015. Its softness is the ideal counterpoint to classic Versace details like the studs marking the hours and the Greek key pattern surrounding the face.

Biscay Blue

The intensely saturated color in this Alberta Ferretti gown adds to the sumptuousness of the fabric and drape, while also bringing this 1920s-inspired silhouette into the 21st century. (If Jay Gatsby invited you to a party next week, this is what you would wear.) With a timepiece like the Ferragamo Idillio Chronograph FI3030014, you can create your own Gatsby moment. The combination of the rich, modern hue with the timeless luxury of a mother-of-pearl face and yellow gold plating makes it a modern heirloom.

Amethyst Orchid

This beautiful jewel tone is just right for this gem of an evening gown from Tadashi Shoji. The nude underlay emphasizes the rippling skirt, creating a whole range of shades with just one color. The rippling effect on the silver face of the Ferragamo Intreccio FIC010015 is similarly elegant. The motif echoes a structural weaving technique Salvatore Ferragamo often used, called intreccio, layering woven material in a single hue to create deep color and texture.

Oak Buff

Shades of yellow have been standouts for several seasons, and this fall the forecast calls for this deeper yet comforting tone. This look from Zac Posen uses Oak Buff to outstanding effect, the single color playing up the textural contrast of luminous fabric and plush fur. The Versace Vanity P5Q80D999 S999 brings the same impact, with the mix of matte and polished golds in the face and bezel juxtaposed against a textured calfskin band.

Marsala

Christian Dior menswear is consistently sharp-lined and sculptural, but usually sticks to shades of black and gray. This season, Dior Homme stayed true to that classic styling while adding a new neutral—the sophisticated yet earthy Marsala. This versatile shade can be incorporated into any man’s wardrobe. The Ferragamo 1898 Sport FF322 0015 is a simple way to work this color into your look, and with a canvas band it’s as functional as it is stylish.

Dried Herb

Ready to push the color envelope a bit further? This bolder neutral—layered in a variety of textures in this look from Coach—isn’t just for camouflage. Set off against bold black, this organic shade stands out from the crowd. Paired with pops of white and a black leather band in the Fortis Flieger Cockpit 595.11.16 L.01, Dried Herb elevates the look of this modern timepiece.

Stormy Weather

Forget 50 Shades of Grey—this cool, blue-tinged gray is the only shade you’ll need for fall. Gray is the ultimate workhorse neutral in both men’s and women’s wear; you can pair it with ivory or camel, contrast it with pops of brightness, or of course deepen it with black. No matter what, you won’t go wrong. The same can be said for the Gevril Columbus Circle 2006. Like Stormy Weather, it’s handsome but straightforward, with multiple functions and luminous hands for maximum utility.

Cadmium Orange

If you’re ready to take the plunge into some serious color, a statement piece in this vibrant yet understated bright is the way to do it. You can go major, like in this trendy coat from Ami, but you can also take a more subtle approach. A pop of color—like when your cuff reveals the Haurex Caimano N1354UNO—shows that you can have fun with fashion while still being appropriate for the office. With a rubber band and water resistance, this watch is perfect for that winter beach getaway, too.

The best news yet? Fall’s hot colors work for either sex, so there are no limits to how you can style them. And starting off with an exceptional accessory is the ideal way to work one of these new hues into your wardrobe.

Colors of Spring/Summer 2015 Men’s Fashion and Watches

Salvatore Ferragamo Spring Summer 2015 Runway Show

When it comes to accessorizing, women have loads of options. For a man, the single most important accessory is the watch on his wrist. With spring right around the corner it’s time to refresh your look with by matching the hottest colors of the season in your dress and timepiece. Colors that are getting attention this spring are perennial classics like navy blue and charcoal gray, as well as earthy tones like burgundy and olive green.

Use your watch as a chance to make a bold statement that complements your new look. Keep your eyes peeled for unique details like graphic face designs, exhibition windows, embossed leather and, of course, a great pop of color.

Marsala

The double-breasted suit is a resurgent classic, but Dolce&Gabbana adds an eye-catching twist as only they can. To begin, D&G started with a rich, Marsala hue and then set it off with contrasting gray detailing on the lapels, buttons, and pockets. A vest just barely peeking out and ultra skinny tie finish off the look. The only thing that’s missing is this limited edition, Gevril Avenue of the Americas with its burgundy, alligator-embossed band and oversized rose gold numbers on the face. This one-of-a-kind timepiece, one of only 500 in existence, is the perfect accessory to make you stand out from the crowd.

Dusk Blue

On a crisp day in early spring, a stylish summer jacket like this one from Fendi is a must. This material combines preppy plaid and a smart casual cut with shades of denim blue and a bohemian tie-dye effect for an unexpected and unique piece. When paired with a simple chino, this jacket will really pop and turn heads when you walk down the street. Pick up the shades of dusky denim throughout the jacket with the graphic planetarium pattern face of this polished and brushed stainless-steel Gattinoni Draco timepiece.

Woodbine

Olive green is a menswear staple thanks to its versatility and military vibe. But brands like Y Project are elevating this cool, neutral color by applying it to upscale fabrics like this tailored short paired with a motorcycle jacket-inspired topper and matching t-shirt. Keep a bit of a rugged touch to the look with the Fortis Flieger Cockpit. The nylon strap and compass-inspired face with luminous hands and hour markers make it a watch that can go from camping to cocktails.

Classic Blue

If there’s one color that never gets old it’s blue. No matter which shade of blue you choose, you can’t go wrong with this classic color. One essential staple is a Breton stripe shirt like this one from Michael Kors. Kors pairs the top with a cuffed jean and braided leather sandals and belt for the ultimate summer look. If you prefer a clean and classic look try the limited edition, stainless steel Ferragamo Lungarno Chronograph.

Glacier Gray

Daring trendsetters are all about playing with the proportions of classic suits. The Christopher Lemaire sleek, dove gray suit is a perfect example of how a classic suit can be experimented with. Oversized jacket pockets, a sweatpant-style cuff on the pants, and a relaxed overall fit make this look casual despite being a suit. The Rudiger Stuttgart is also sophisticated with a twist thanks to an exhibition window in the face, showing off the watch’s beautiful mechanics. Break up the gray palette with a black calfskin strap with alligator pattern.

Titanium

Dolce & Gabbana’s double-breasted suit has an entirely different feel in charcoal gray instead of burgundy. The classic gray pinstripe makes the suit office appropriate but the addition of a contrast lapel and patterned shirt and tie add enough style to wow on a night on the town. Add another lighthearted touch with the Gevril Columbus Circle, which incorporates the astrological symbols for days of the week as a whimsical, conversation-starting detail.

What are you waiting for? Mix things up and try these coordinating looks on for size.

Colors of Spring/Summer 2015 Women’s Fashion and Watches

Elie Saab By Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2015

It may still be cold outside, but when it comes to fashion, spring is already here. Racks are already overflowing with next season’s palette of pastel and Easter egg inspired hues complemented by soft, earthy neutrals. Eager to get into those juicy spring colors early? Luckily, accessories are getting the same color treatment and they’re ready to be shown off right away.

Scuba Blue

Elie Saab is ready for a summer getaway with this bohemian chic tie-dye gown with sequin detailing. Pick up the ocean- and sunset-inspired hues of the dress by pairing it with the equally colorful Ferragamo Lirica. Thanks to a diamond-embellished, mother of pearl dial face, this watch will not be outdone by the shimmering sequins of its counterpart.

Strawberry Ice

Cushnie et Ochs’ ladylike, pastel cocktail dress is as sexy as it is sweet thanks to a sheer panel showing off a flash of leg. Elevate the look even further with a pink Ferragamo Minuetto with mother of pearl face and diamond detailing. The only accessory you’ll still be missing is a strawberry ice cream cone to complete the look. Careful not to drip…

Tangerine

Summer doesn’t just mean dressing for the beach or resort. This Gucci girl is ready to turn heads in the street of Milan in a drop shoulder tangerine dress with scarf detail around the neck. Suede ankle booties, a woven belt and round sunglasses keep the 70s vibe of the dress intact. Fellow Italian fashion powerhouse Versace offers an equally sunny complement with the Versace Vanity and its tangerine face and band. Iconic elements like the brand’s Medusa hardware and Greek key pattern make this a classic in the making.

Custard

This Erin Fetherston dress may have a simple silhouette but it’s anything but basic thanks to its delicate metallic embroidery, intricate floral pattern, and sensual cutout just below the bustline. When paired with a classic pump it’s a perfect look for an elegant garden party. The ultimate finishing touch is a watch that also doubles as jewelry like the limited edition Gevril Avenue of Americas Glamour with a custard yellow strap and rectangular face rimmed with a whopping 187 full cut diamonds totaling more than two carats.

Marsala

Cropped pants are all the rage right now and this Jenny Packham iteration with an embellished waistband and equally embellished blouse is airy and quintessentially chic. Perfect for a warm, summer night out on the town, this sleek, contemporary style begs for an equally contemporary watch like an Johan Eric Orstead with its matching wine-colored satin strap and unique perforated face.

Glacier Gray

Avant garde designer Haider Ackermann makes gray anything but gloomy by combining rich tones and varied textures. There’s only one thing missing – a sleek silver watch like the Ferragamo Grande Maison. The abstract design of the mother of pearl face has an edgy, modern feel that would fit seamlessly into this stern but elegant glacier gray masterpiece of an outfit.

Aquamarine

This season, there’s no such thing as too many shades of blue according to the queen of colorblocking Roksanda Ilincic. This outfit combines aquamarine and sky blue, set off by a flourish of intense red on the underside of a billowy pleat that extends across the left shoulder. If you’re going to be bold, either go big or go home. And this dress goes all out. Top off the look with this turquoise, monochromatic Versus Tokyo. Though the strap looks metallic, the unexpected use of rubber makes the piece especially fashion-forward.

Get into the spirit of spring early this year by embracing this warm and welcoming palette of colors that will make the cold and washed out winter seem like a lifetime ago.

Colors of Fall/Winter 2014-2015 Women’s Fashion and Watches

Prada and DVF Fall 2014 Women's Fashion Runway Shows

by Meehna Goldsmith

Fashion designers are like artists, using a palette of colors and textures in creation of collections for the seasons. Fall is on its way into town, and if you’re expecting oranges, forget it. Autumn is wearing a whimsical wardrobe of hues that are quite surprising and romantic. Look to dress yourself up in fun colors including neutrals, brights and metallics. Fashion ensembles also include accessories, such as jewels and watches, that get the same fanciful and artistic treatment.

Sangria

Sangria isn’t just a drink you order when you feel like a Spanish cocktail. It’s a color Elie Saab rocked on the runway in this pantsuit with a peplum flair matched with shoes highlighted in the same color. Why not finish off the look with the matching Ferragamo Gancino watch wrapped around your wrist? In a classic Ferragamo Gancino IP gold case, it features a Gancino-patterned dial and leather strap, both in the sangria hue.

Almond

Neutral colors are one of the names of the game to be ready for the brisk autumn air. Valentino presented this gorgeous sleeveless floor length embroidered gown. It’s both elegant and bold with the careful placement of the embroidery on the see-through top. Neutrals can be wild too, as seen in this spicy and glamorous Glam Rock GR10521D Miami Python timepiece. Glittering with diamonds, the leather python-patterned strap would give some contrasting pizzazz to this look.

Mustard

Carven proved mustard is a versatile color not just meant for a condiment. This matching skirt and top sports a below the knee look. It manages to avoid being too stuffy by embellishing with zippers and a leopard pattern on the collar and shirt pockets. The Hush Puppies Orbz complements the design gracefully. In a stainless steel round case, the silver dial has golden numerals and a leather strap in just the right color to fit fall.

Cognac

Givenchy glammed up this cognac colored dress with the same color fur collar. Not one but two belts give the piece dimension. One at the waist matches the dress, while the other swiveling at the hips contrasts in a mocha color. Ferragamo has the perfect accessory with the Ferragamo Buckle. Here again the famous Gancino mark, in a different style, would elevate an outfit with its IP gold Gancino-shaped case and lush patterned brown dial that finishes off with a matching brown strap.

Mauve

Elie Saab shows his penchant for the peplum again with another pantsuit, this time in the dusky and romantic mauve color. A similar color fur stole with contrasting black color on the shoulders drapes lushly around the model’s shoulders, adding both tone and textural contrast. Johan Eric obviously wasn’t designing for Elie Saab, but the brand could have been. The Johan Eric JE2100-09-001.9 Herlev Slim watch looks like it was made to go with this ensemble. From its identical colored strap, diamond-enhanced dial and its slim figure, the watch is the sweet icing on the cake.

Cranberry

Sangria isn’t the only red available in this season’s oeuvre. Versace shows its rock-n-roll edge in this meshed and sequined fringe dress that ties together formal and dance club. It could be easily paired with this yummy furry coat, which switches environments with as much ease. Versace has the answer for your watch too. The cranberry Versace Vanity shows two looks with a dial that combines Roman numerals with a studded bezel. Dial color matches the strap, on which the famed Medusa head appears on two studs.

Aurora Red

Another great accompaniment option is the red Glam Rock Bal Harbour. Adding some sport to the glamour element, this chronograph comes in an IP gold case with Roman numeral white dial. The punchy red strap caps the argument for autumn.

Royal Blue

Ferragamo calls on Royal blue in this slightly mysterious turtleneck dress with accenting belt. The outfit is ready to transition from indoors to out paired with a long cape-like jacket that flows to the knees. Dip into Ferragamo’s accessory treasure chest to accessorize with the Ferragamo FG3040014 Gancino Deco. Styling a similar colored blue geometric dial with Arabic and diamond-studded baton numerals, the watch is a winner with its matching strap studded with the famed Gancino.

Peacock Blue

Versace goes full on peacock blue here in sporty suede pants featuring the Medusa studs paired with a turtleneck. Hitting at the waist, the similar colored furry coat provides a dressy element. Remember this is Versace so the coat still retains that rebellious touch. All that’s left to do is accessorize the wrist with a JOWISSA AJ2.011.M Roma Colori. Here the black hour indexes set against the white dial backdrop act as the bezel. That blue strap is right on target to complete the fashion forward fall look.

It may be shifting from summer to autumn and outside, and it may be less shiny and bright, but dressing and accessorizing will make for a fall season awash in artistic color.

Fashionistas know that watches aren’t just to tell time. They are a statement of taste and personality, an accessory to dress up an outfit and project an image. Those who keep up with the trends will choose high-style watches to match the season’s hottest runway looks.

Monochrome

Monochrome may have been chic in the 1960’s, but it lost its edge, looking rather retro, until now. Designers have updated the look to become a fashion forward choice by incorporating geometric designs. Marc Jacobs rocked the runway with a patterned ensemble in black and white, while Victoria Beckham showed a color block dress using the same hues.

Both could be nicely paired with the Just Cavalli Trendy R7253178525 stainless steel bracelet watch with off-center black dial embellished with sparkling diamonds or the JOWISSA Roma J2.002.M, a classically configured watch with a white dial contrasted with Roman numerals on the bezel.

Technicolor

At the opposite end of the spectrum, designers played with strong technicolor hues whose heyday also hearkens back to the 1960’s. But in the 21st century, designers have taken striking hues as inspiration, juxtaposing multi-colors into pieces that are sure to turn heads when they make an entrance. Think of them as more intense hues of a rainbow.

Alberta Ferretti presented an orange and fuchsia dress that would be perfectly complemented by the orange dialed Versus Logo SP8060014 with diamonds at the quarter hours accompanied by a fuchsia strap, while Prada’s ensemble would benefit from the Versus Tokyo SGM13 0014 orange dialed watch with a multi-colored bezel and contrasting fuchsia and orange straps secured between the lugs.

Prada Versus Tokyo SGM13 0014
Prada Technicolor Versus SGM13 0014 Tokyo

Metallics

Metallics are a perennial favorite and again they make an appearance on the runways. Versace debuted an evening number that was both sophisticated and sexy with the high cut skirt revealing just the right amount of leg. An appropriate accompaniment to a fancy night-on-the town dress such as this is the Versus Coral Gables SOD010014, a watch that’s got the rock-n-roll soul of the Versace line exemplified by the signature Versus pyramids as a theme on the whole watch from the black faced design to the silver bezel and bracelet.

Designer Nicola Finetti also represented the metallic trend with an outfit featuring cropped metallic pants with a white shirt accented with metallic highlights. For this ensemble, the Ferragamo Gancino Deco FG3050014 will give the outfit a snappy look. The stainless steel case and cream patterned dial synchronize with the metallic in the clothes. Adding just the right hint of luxurious sparkle, the Arabic numerals at the quarter hours are surrounded by diamond baton indexes.

Nudes and Neutrals

If you think nudes are blah, then you better think again. Certainly, the wrong nude color can be disastrous, but if you look to the summer fashion palette, designers have made them dazzling. Yes, dazzling. Don’t believe me, then check out the draping hot number from Ferragamo. There’s no doubt neutral colors can compete with their flashier counterparts. Ferragamo even used the chic tones on their new Ferragamo Buckle FG5030014 watch whose Gancino shape is used to its most cultivated advantage. The stainless steel case encompasses a nude-toned dial, which fits around the wrist with a matching leather strap.

As accessories make the woman, picking the correct watch to complete an ensemble is key.
