With brand new halls designed by Basel architects Harzog and de Meuron, the recently completed Baselworld 2013 watch and jewelry show offered exhibitors an unprecedented new opportunity to showcase their latest and best creations. Versace certainly didn’t disappoint, with a spectacular white and gold booth that was filled with excitement, as the iconic Italian brand launched a spectacular array of new watch lines and line extensions.
The spectacular Thea Collection also made its debut at Baselworld 2013. The strikingly original Thea features a slim, flaring case, completely free of lugs and uses the characteristic Greek key motif and Medusa studs to bring Versace’s distinctive personality to this delicate fashion masterpiece
Versace certainly didn’t forget the men during this year’s show, introducing the boldly styled 46 mm V-Race GMT Alarm Watch, along with the elegant DV One Skeleton Watch. The V-Race GMT Alarm Watch is as fashionable as it is functional with a unique dual time zone dial featuring a small running seconds sub-dial at two o’clock and big date window at six o’clock.
The new ceramic and titanium DV One Skeleton Watch is one of the most intricate and compelling designs the Maison has ever produced. This unique watch features a partially skeletonized dial divided into two hemispheres. One side of the dial reveals the precision mechanical Dubois-Dépraz chronograph movement below, while the other side houses three easy-to-read sub-dials for timing events.
Versace’s popular Venus, Vanity and Reve Collections were also on prominent display at the Versace booth. With their iconic Italian style and precision Swiss made technology, it’s easy to see why Versace watches have become today’s “must have” fashion accessory with fashionistas everywhere. Baselworld is over for another year, but won’t be long before the timepieces that made their debut at this year’s show start showing up in a fashionable location near you.
