Versace knows that it takes a spectacular venue to introduce a spectacular collection.
Baselworld is an essential part of Versace’s marketing plan. According to Kari Allen, president of Versace Watches in the U.S. and the Caribbean, this spectacular watch and jewelry show, held every year in Basel, Switzerland, has always been the best place to introduce Versace’s latest and best timepieces to the world.
Baselworld 2015 certainly lived up to its expectations. For eight days, starting March 17, over 100,000 journalists, retailers, industry leaders, collectors and watch aficionados from 45 different countries got an unprecedented opportunity to see the timepieces the world will be wearing and talking about in 2015.
One thing the watch world will be talking about is the 2015 Versace timepiece collections. Versace’s impressive new Dylos Collection made its Baselworld debut this year. These spectacular octagonal designs wowed the Baselworld crowds with their unique shape and artful use of Versace’s iconic symbols and themes. Both the Dylos chronograph and the smaller ladies three-hand configuration feature premium Swiss made mechanical movements and beautiful geometric detailing.
Also making their debut at Baselworld 2015 were the beautifully proportioned Day Glam Chrono and the exclusive new DV-25. Everyone was talking about the one-of-a-kind DV-25 designed for and worn by Donatella Versace herself at this year’s show. With an 18kt solid gold case embellished with 28 brilliant baguette-cut diamonds on the top ring, this spectacular watch, created to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Versace timepieces, was a showstopper. Retailers visiting the show were happy that there will be other versions of the exclusive DV-25 that their customers can buy as well.
Kari Allen has always considered Baselworld the most important event on her calendar. If the success of this year’s show is any indication, Versace will be returning to this fabled venue for many years to come. The beautiful Versace booth was one of the most popular destinations for Baselworld visitors and sales were brisk throughout the eight-day show.
Watch insiders know that Baselworld is different than Las Vegas. What happens in Baselworld doesn’t stay in Baselworld. The timepieces that wowed the crowds this year will be showing up in the showrooms of authorized Versace watch dealers very soon.
